Shoot for Staying Cool With Pool Basketball

Water basketball was created in 1986 by a teacher in Italy, Francesco Rizzuto. This fun and fast-paced sport is a mix of basketball and water polo. Although the sport is mostly recreational in America, many other countries play the sport extremely competitively.

Water basketball, often referred to as pool basketball, has many common rules to ensure safety and fairness. Just like normal basketball, each team is only allowed to have five players active in the game. Also, passing the ball underwater is not allowed. If a team commits a foul or breaks any common rules, the ball will be awarded to the opposing team. Very little equipment is needed for the sport and pretty much just consists of the water basketball hoop and a basketball. To find everything you would ever need for the sport, visit Recreonics.com.
